<p>A long-buried secret seeks out an orphan who has grown to find love and happiness. Middle-aged with daughters in the throes of life decisions the protagonist learns that her actual father was a Nazi officer stationed in Jersey (Channel Islands) and that her mother was a Jersey girl who waited for him after the war. She learns that she was ransomed to allow them to escape by the person she thought was her mother.</p><p><br></p><p>Family relationships and life's relentless forward progression seeks a way to reconcile all of the parties with their pasts.</p>
