Res Burman. A Londoner a seasoned soldier who long ago left the rat race behind for a quite life in Cornwall. I have got to know him through his writing and discovered a man of wisdom and wit! Put in simple terms Res comes to life on the page. An old pirate now he brings Cornwall to the page for everyone to read to delight in his words sometimes accompanied by photographs always giving us a close up view of what he calls Pirate Central! A man of charm and compassion he has a way of bringing the natural world and the human world together like no other poet. His love for the wild animals and wild places come together on the page in perfect harmony. Crafted to perfection his poetry is simple sometimes outrageous serious humorous and always so readable.Affection for his natural surroundings love of his fellow man a craving for justice and fairness for all Res Burman is in my opinion a go to poet. A man for all occasions. And as I sit here writing this now I can imagine Res sat at his desk in the window pen in hand looking out over the rooftops to the sea the tide sweeping new words over the shoreline of his mind. A wise man a funny man a friend a writer without equal. So pull up a chair make yourself comfortable and lose yourself in the words of this Fine poet.
