Centrifugal compressors have been widely used in olefin separation units. However the inherent attribute of centrifugal compressors-surge will cause serious harm to the compressor seriously affecting the safe and stable operation of the process; hence how to effectively prevent the compressor from surging is a practical problem that needs to be solved urgently. This paper takes the gas compressor unit of the olefin separation unit as the research background. Firstly it introduced the compressor ITCC control scheme. Secondly it analyzed the problems of the ITCC anti-surge control scheme. Thirdly it proposed the improved control scheme-anti-surge control based on fuzzy control. Finally Matlab software Simulink and the fuzzy logic toolbox were used for simulation analysis. The anti-surge control scheme based on fuzzy control proposed in this paper can not only prevent the compressor from surging but can also reduce the backflow effectively which achieves the purpose of saving energy.
