RESEARCH APPLICATIONS IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

At night time usually long distance travelling drivers feeling drowsy is one of the common issues of four wheeler accidents. Every day major human death is due to road accidents. We have developed a system for Drowsy Driver Detection System employing a non-intrusive machine vision. The system uses a tiny low monochrome security camera that points directly towards the driver’s face and monitors the driver’s eyes so as to sight the fatigue. In such a case once fatigue is detected an alert is issued to alert the driving force. The proposed work describes a way to realize the eyes of the driver are open or closed and an emergency alert system is developed.
