In normal APC three copies of a packet are sent one after another from source to destination. This result in i. At best throughput of 1/3 in terms of average number of attempt to receive a packet correctly. ii. Higher consumption of bandwidth & larger transmission time. If APC is made to implement with VDM at Physical signal level bandwidth consumption & transmission delay will be leaser. In normal APC Error detection/ correction is not possible if error occurs at the same bit location of more than one copy with VDM is different signal. Even though researchers have carried out several work still further work can be carried out to target the following:(a) Enhancing Throughput.(b) How to deal with error in case it is present in same location for all the copies(c) How to deal with error in case it is present in same location for all the copies Packer Reversed Packet Combining) scheme.(d) If instead of static nature the error rate channel is variable then how we can apply and implement APC(e) How can we implement multipath routing and branching stochastic process in this context(f) Multistep APC.(g) APC in Gilbert two state models.
