Research in a Developmental Context

Essay from the year 2014 in the subject Politics - Methods Research grade: B University of Antwerp (IOB) language: English abstract: The purpose of this paper is to review recent research in the development area. The overall structure of the study takes the form of five sections including the introductory section.The first section of this paper examines the role of applied research in a development context. Section two begins by laying out the different epistemological and boundary issues of the research and looks at its impact on the research process. The third section is concerned with the methodology used in the literature review. The final chapter discusses validity issues within the social sciences focusing on what constitutes rigour in development research. Finally the conclusion gives a brief summary and critique of the findings.
