Resonance Vol-I

Keeping in mind the diverse background of the students and their need for social sensitization the Department of English of Justice Basheer Ahmed Sayeed College for Women has carefully designed Resonance Volume I the English textbook for the undergraduate students. The syllabus has been carefully graded as Preliminary English for the First Semester and Intermediate English for the Second Semester. Preliminary English includes varied genres like short stories poems biography autobiography and one-act plays. The purpose of the selection is to introduce the learners to simple forms of literature and enable them to engage with it creatively. Tasks and post reading activities have been included to enhance their communication skills. Intermediate English comprises of prose poetry speeches and novella. The objective is to inculcate moral values and work towards the holistic development of the mind body and spirit. The exercises not only test the comprehensive ability of the learners but also hone their critical thinking. This textbook endeavours to make learning an enriching and a fruitful experience.
