Resource partitioning among the Insectivorous birds

This book describes the ecology of some insectivorous birds in the agricultural ecosystem particularly in the Cauvery delta region of Nagapattinam District Tamil Nadu India. Here an intensive study with regard to population distribution feeding habits and breeding habits of some insectivorous birds has been made. At the end resource partitioning among the birds has been estimated using appropriate statistical tool. This study aims to prove the concept of niche segregation/ resource partitioning among the insectivorous birds such as Bee- eaters Drongo and Blue jay. Further the importance of insectivorous birds as bio control agents in the control of crop pests has been established.
