Restoring the Atlantic Forest:

This work deals with the geo-environmental analysis of the Mário Xavier National Forest in the municipality of Seropédica - RJ using the Geoprocessing tool. It aims for a systematized understanding of proposals relating to ecological-environmental zoning combined with the growing interest in the conservation potential of the conservation unit. The discussion aims to problematize the maintenance and possibility of re-categorization of this Conservation Unit insofar as it still suffers from various environmental conflicts related to territorial disputes and the expansion of urban areas. The implementation of the SNUC has expanded the ways in which society participates in public policies and in the management of conservation units mainly through the implementation of management councils in the conservation units themselves. In addition FLONA MX has long been focused on sustainable forest management - seedling production logging and is still home to two endemic species listed in the Red Book of Endangered Brazilian Fauna. So what would be the best way to reduce/mitigate environmental conflicts in order to protect endangered species?
