Lucena was a man of many languages. Being Judeoconverso and son of Ambassador Juan Ramírez de Lucena he knew Hebrew. He also had to master Greek and Latin for his studies. Then his international trips forced him to know Italian Portuguese and French. He was the ideal man to write Gramática Castellana. Since several works of Cristóbal de Villalón are giving problems as we do not know whether he was their real author this work can hopefully clarify somewhat certain unknown territories.
