Revertant

Nekoda James a former transport guard faces a life sentence on the prison planet Syrtis. In this lawless wasteland free of any infrastructure or oversight everyone does what is right in his own eyes and life expectancy is short. Food is scarce most native species are deadly to humans and cannibalism is rampant. At the top of the menu are former law enforcement personnel like Nekoda and he is determined to be the first person to escape the planetary prison.Into this netherworld children are sometimes born though they rarely live long. Twin sisters Mara and Serah are among the few who have managed to survive into their teenage years. But when they catch the eye of Tidal chief of a roving band of cannibals they must flee across the desert with their father to evade capture. In their efforts to shake Tidal's pursuit they cross paths with the newcomer Nekoda and their father recognizes him as the very transport guard responsible for bringing him to this place of horrors.
