Review and Study of Craniosynostosis

The sutural synostotic pathology of the cranial vault is not very frequent in the daily clinical practice of pediatricians radiologists neurosurgeons and other specialists involved in the recognition assessment and decision making on the most appropriate therapeutic approach in each of the cases. Very often specialists get lost in the extensive literature on the subject especially because most of the articles published are either too concise or too extensive and focused on a very specific aspect of this disorder which although encompassed by the singular term of craniosynostosis has a multifactorial etiology and a very variable presentation in pediatric units and diagnostic imaging services. That is why without the intention of carrying out an exhaustive review of all craniosynostoses and their respective aspects in each of the medical disciplines that deal with them we try in this book to make a simple pleasant and practical approach for all those health professionals who wish to start in the differential diagnosis and study of this pathology.
