Revolt : Guy Hocquenghem (1946-1988) - with a preface by René Schérer: Translation of Cécile Voisset-Veysseyre, Guy Hocquenghem. La révolte (1946-1988), Paris : sextant, Octobre 2015
Revolt maybe starts with a deep and far feeling something which only can be enunciated by poetry. That philosophical portrait of a writer novelist journalist and activist (for gays rights) lists a few topics which are almost all political ones and some of them still current. It deals also with a style regarding both life and work which remains attractive despite such a very controversial (uncompromising) man ; I first decided to initiate my research because of Guy Hocquenghem’s temper and met many oppositions. I was studying something new then untold (nothing or only but silence) and I managed to release my book two years after my work : thanks to my humble French publisher. Nine years behind now here is my own translation of that short essay.
