Riding The Bones

Riding The Bones is the first book in the DEATH series which are linked to a custom tarot/oracle deck bearing the same name. The series is a mixture of heathen druid practices with elements of Irish and Nordic witchcraft mixed in. The book explores the transition of the dead from 'person' to divine mother/father and the indelible link between the living and dead. The book was written in collaboration by Larisa Sheal and Sarah all whom discuss how they were affected by death and their own relationships with the goddesses that they have been called to follow and how that calling affects their practice as heathens and Irish druids. Riding The Bones explores the concepts of working with goddesses like Hel and the Morrigan while showcasing the history of the Celtic/Nordic peoples and how ancestors were worshipped how this worship changed over time and influenced our modern concepts of funerals mourning and the practices surrounding death.
