Risk factors for CKD in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

About The Book

The authors collected data from a sample of records of patients with diabetes mellitus 2 (DM2) in which emphasis was placed on those risk factors for developing Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) in order to determine the frequency of these factors in patients with DM2. In this work the reader will find relevant information on the physiological disorders that usually occur in people with DM2 and which of them lead to the development of CKD as well as on less frequent factors that need attention in order to inhibit as far as possible the onset and progression of CKD. The risk factors for developing CKD considered in this study were: sex nutritional status age arterial hypertension poorly controlled diabetes nephrotoxic drugs autoimmune diseases poorly controlled arterial hypertension smoking dyslipidemia and anemia. In the results and discussion section the reader will find detailed information on the intensity and incidence of each risk factor studied and in a more summarized form in the summary and conclusions.
