Risk Management Practices and VSE Performance

Our study entitled Risk Management Practices and MSE Performance: the case of ready-to-wear clothing in Douala''s central market is based on a survey using an interview guide for owners of very small enterprises (VSEs). Its aim is to explain the performance of VSEs on the basis of risk management practices. We began by presenting the concepts and methodological framework of the survey followed by an analysis of the results managerial implications and recommendations that led to a risk management system for VSEs. The contribution of risk management practices in VSEs has been demonstrated in the context of their performance but it is also necessary to associate the characteristics of the entrepreneur including skills experience and information in order to justify their performance. Our sample consisted of five (05) MSEs operating in the ready-to-wear sector in the central market of the city of Douala. The results were revealing after collecting data from the managers of these MSEs.
