This book examines risk of hospital readmission among dual eligible population in Arizona comparing rural residents to urban residents. The study also examines length of stay associated with index admission and cost associated with readmission. Log-binomial regression model was used to model readmission whereas poisson regression and gamma regression models were used to model length of stay and cost respectively.Propensity score adjustment was used in each model to account for the selection bias between rural and urban residents.The study found no association between patients residence and risk of readmission howeverit found association between discharge destination and risk of readmission.
