Ro��a Roceiro Ration

This book discusses production consumption and the relationship of dependency in the cultivation of manioc in the hinterland of Bahia (Morro do Chapéu 1850-1880). The documents used include: wills inventories criminal proceedings and correspondence from the Morro do Chapéu town council. Thompsonian paternalism was the theoretical framework chosen to think about the relationships of personal dependence between landowners and farmers in the sertão. In this way this work traces an in-depth investigation into the main item in the sertanejo's diet i.e. manioc flour.
