Rocky the Roadrunner

This is a true story about a special relationship that developed between a wild desert bird and the owner and friends of a special house in the Western Mojave in California. If you have ever looked into the eyes of a wild animal especially in its natural habitat you know how special that moment can be. Anyone with a family pet knows the special bond between animal and man and it can be a truly amazing experience. In fact most pet owners consider their animals to be an integral part of the family and include them in weddings rely on them for protection and grieve upon their demise. Having an untamed animal not only approach you but maintain a constant presence throughout its life was transformative for me and became a defining part of my life. It is a story that is best shared and will hopefully enrich yours as well.
