Role of Anti-Oxidants in Composite Resin Bonding Following Bleaching

Bleaching and composite restorations as combined treatment form a conservative approach for treatment of discolored mal-shaped and mal-positioned teeth. However bleaching affects immediate composite resin restoration bonding to teeth. Use of anti-oxidants has been recommended to address this problem. Lately alpha tocopherol (vitamin E) has been suggested as an anti-oxidant for this purpose. Literature wise hardly any studies and information are available on its form concentration and application time and their relationship to its clinical effectiveness. Therefore this book based on a study provides information on the above aspect. This book should assist Dental students and research scholars and esthetic and restorative dentistry specialists and general dentists in gaining knowledge and deriving the benefits to optimize their desired outcome in their field of application pertaining to tooth bleaching use of anti-oxidants and composite restorations.
