Role of APSV in predicting healing of diabetic foot lesions

A study published in 2014 showing mortality rate for Diabetic foot lesions are much higher than mortality rates of some fatal cancers. Ankle peak systolic velocity is a novel easy noninvasive economic method to assess the vascularity in lower limbs in order to assess the healing of diabetic foot lesions. Patient experience an amputation has a high chance for reccurence and higher level of amputation or contralateral limb amputation in 5 years.
