Role of Heredity and Genetics in Malocclusion

Orthodontic malocclusions are one of the serious complications which affect the facial jaw structures both functionally and esthetically. More than a third of all the malocclusions are mainly due to genetic factors which are caused due to the mutations in the genes during birth. We need to focus on the different genetic aspects of malocclusion which influences it so that we can approach the malocclusions and find the treatment options pertaining to it.
