Role of the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in Economic Empowerment of Women

Since the Grameen Bank movement of Nobel Laureate Economist of Bangladesh Md. Yunus the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are considered to be instrumental for economic empowerment of Women across the globe. The present study is concentrated on the role of SHGs on economic empowerment of Women in Sunderbans of India a region with a lot of natural adversity and with rich bio-diversity which was inscribed by UNESCO as World Heritage Site. The book is primarily addressed for researchers policy framers working in the field of Women Empowerment through formation of Self-Help Groups.
