Role of various retardants in delaying of senescence in wheat plants
English

About The Book

In this book an attempt has been made to analyze the possible protection mechanism against the aging process in wheat leaves. To achieve this a comparative study has been performed using metal ions phytohormones and polyamens. Among metal ions there is an valancey dependent protection in photosynthetic reaction during dark incubation of wheat primary leaves. Among phytohormones kinetin seems to be giving more protection when compared to the auxins and gibberellins. Among polyamines spermidine is giving more retardation effect of chlorophyll when compare to spermin and putrescine.
