Rooted in My Faith

<p>I have wonderful precious memories of the church of my childhood. An East Texas woman gives us a warmhearted window into the church where her parents would take the family every time the door was open. Church was a family affair with her uncle serving as the pastor and the extended family attending a joyous place where the whole church family celebrated the occasions of life together. </p><p> </p><p>As a young girl she napped on the old wooden pews covered by a handmade shawl. She fondly remembers hearing the rustling of the pages of Bibles turning joining in singing the beloved hymns and tasting favorite covered dishes at dinner-on-the-grounds Sundays. These memories bring us back to a simpler time when services did not have a time limit and people gathered at the altar to pray meeting their Jesus there.  </p><p> </p><p>Karla Byrd shares her reminiscences of the depth and riches of the love fellowship and support of her childhood church that rooted her faith. Each chapter in the book is complete with journal pages for readers to affirm their own faith by inserting their remembrances to leave a legacy for the generations that follow.  </p>
