Routine at the Official Seed Analysis Laboratory

This book aims to describe the activities carried out during the period from March 9 2015 to August 10 2015 related to the mandatory internship of the Agronomy Course developed at the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation - Embrapa Clima Temperado Terras Baixas Experimental Station in the municipality of Pelotas Rio Grande do Sul Brazil. During this period activities were carried out at the Official Seed Analysis Laboratory accredited by the Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Supply (MAPA). Among the activities carried out were the analysis of purity and physical composition of the sample where the component parts were separated into pure seeds inert material and other seeds with the result expressed as a percentage. Determination of other seeds by number complementing the purity analysis. Conducting implementing and evaluating germination tests evaluating the vigor of soybean and rice seeds and determining the degree of moisture by the oven method at 105 °C for 24 hours.
