<p>Sri Lanka is a country where stories hunt for you<br>It's a rumour.</p><p>At least that's what I was told by a man at a roadside kadé who claimed to have played cricket with ghosts and dated a woman who later became President. The island doesn't always make sense. Its timelines twist its truths wobble and its stories - well they multiply faster than potholes in monsoon season.</p><p>This book is a collection of those stories - surreal satirical possibly slanderous. But under the absurdity lies something very real: a land still unpacking its colonial hangover wrestling its political contradictions and trying to keep dancing to baila through blackout after blackout.</p>
