Rural Livelihoods in Andhra Pradesh

The book highlighted the impact of SHGs and their activities on the socio-economic transformation of SC women. The book would be more useful to the students social scientists NGOs and administrators who are interested in the welfare of Scheduled Caste populations and development of SHGs in India. Rural women in particular those belonging to the Scheduled castes have limited access to resources or employment opportunities that would make them financially independent. Empowerment of women can be effectively achieved if poor women could be organized into groups- for community participation as well as assertion of their rights in various services related to their economic and social well being.
