Rural Sanitation in Ganjam Odisha

An assessment of access quality reliability responsiveness corruption satisfaction and suggestions from the beneficiaries service providers on rural sanitation (Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin) have been conducted through the use of social accountability tool i.e. Citizen Report Card in 10 blocks in Ganjam district of Odisha. Poor awareness level delay in issuing a letter of permission corruption in form of bribe delay in receiving incentive money poor quality of construction are the major findings that deteriorate the effective implementation of the rural sanitation scheme and make Ganjam an open defecation free district.
