SAD CLOWN by Shaun Hume

This simple and elegant first volume of Shaun Hume's work brings to light a generous handful of his images taken in Europe and Northern Africa showcasing the photographer's unique eye for symmetry and storytelling. In describing his work Shaun talks about the unrepeatable nature of life and how his pictures are the results of wandering and looking and living. Not searching but looking. Enjoying the play of life while always being receptive to those sometimes only split-second moments of magic. The almost one hundred black and white images in SAD CLOWN span the years between 2003 and 2018 and depict intimate moments as well as chance observations. All the while displaying Hume's deft attention to detail his intuitive creativity and a remarkable sensitivity to the emotion of a moment.
