SAFETY AND SECURITY FOR WOMEN

Women and girls are frequently subject to violence and abuse from physical and verbal harassment to assault and rape.Women should be highly concerned about their own security especially during vulnerable time as at night and at sensitive locations. So far we have dealt with the requirement of stringent laws legal and administrative system to deal with such offences against women. But it requires further delving into the matter.This book pro­vides platforms and mechanisms for raising awareness among women and for organizing them on the issue of social security. Safety planning and designing mechanism for women and girls is important which is the need of the hour. Harassment and abuse of women and girls in public spaces is a rampant yet largely neglected issue. Hence this book pro­vides guidance on how to create safety and security for women and girls to live a life free of violence.
