Saint Brigid and the King's Wolf

Many legends recall Saint Brigid's generosity as she traveled across Ireland in a chariot caring for all she met. The story of Saint Brigid and the King's Wolf recalls her kindness to the people of her village Kildare as well as the wild animals of the forest. Saint Brigid's day is February 1. Woven rush crosses are hung over doors for goodluck and oat breads are left on windowsills as a reminder to share food with those in need.
