Carroll (Founder Of Christendom College In Virginia And Author Of The Six-Volume The History Of Christendom [1985-2005].) This Old Book [1899] And Its Companion Volumes [St. Peter And The First Years Of Christianity (Ny 1892); The Last Years Of St. Paul (Ny 1900); St. John And The Close Of The Apostolic Age (Ny 1905)] Stand In This Writer'S Opinion As The Best Single Treatment [From An Orthodox Catholic Viewpoint] Of The History Of The Apostolic Age Available In English. Their Use Of Fact And Argument In Dealing With The Often Obscure And Controverted Events Of This Vitally Important Period Is Superb.. All Of Fouard'S Books Together With The Christ The Son Of God (1880) Form Part Of One Grand Work Les Origines De L'Eglise Which He Wrote As An Answer To The Presentation Of The Same Subject From The Rationalist Viewpoint By Ernest Renan.
