<p>For what reason is it generally</p><p>unknown since the contents</p><p>are in no way inferior to that</p><p>of the great saints from all ages who</p><p>are famous for their virtue? You all</p><p>know who I am talking about unless</p><p>someone is ignorant of this famous</p><p>Mount Athos and the Peter named</p><p>after it. He was our very first native and</p><p>local champion. After overthrowing</p><p>the adversary of the whole earth</p><p>on this very ground he then in this</p><p>very place became the first trophy of</p><p>victory over the enmity of him who</p><p>stands against us; and consequently</p><p>by sowing the seed of good works in</p><p>due season it eventually sprouted</p><p>grew up and bore fruit.</p>
