SALVATION: IN THE LIGHT OF THE CROSS AND THE CRESCENT : A Comparative Study on the Concept of Salvation in the Holy Quran and the Holy Bible

Islam is often viewed as a religion which teaches Salvation by work (`amilooa). However a closer examination of the Quranic teaching on soteriology seems to indicate that faith in Allah and His mercy are also crucial for ones salvation. If that is the case then how similar or different is Quranic teaching from the Biblical teaching of salvation by grace through faith? The book Salvation: In the light of the Cross and the Crescent examines the concept of salvation as presented in both the Quran and the Bible and is significant because it will help in understanding the concept of salvation taught in both Islam and Christianity theologically and in turn helps to reveal the facts and correct the misunderstandings concerning soteriology of both Scriptures bringing out the differences and similarities between the two books.
