About The Book
Description
Author
About the author- Shreekant Vijaykar is a consultant teacher and intrepid. When he is not traveling or motorbiking in the Himalayas he manages the Asian operations for COPC Inc. a consulting firm. In his day job he is an industry advisor and thought leader and has published several papers in academic and trade journals. He also teaches in two business schools and has done his Ph.D. in the field of operations and decision making. An avid traveller foodie and blogger Shreekant runs three different blogs. He takes keen interest in community development through education. The shackles of domesticity and civilization have always been a challenge to adjust to for his inherent nature of a wandering nomad. Yet he sees light and beauty and hope in everything. Shreekant spends his time between Mumbai and Gurugram India. About the book- Samidha: Kavita Sangrah. This is the debut poetry and art album by Shreekant Vijaykar. Although most of the poems and artwork were created two decades ago it is uncanny how much of this is contemporary and relevant. This unique little album contains 23 of the choicest Marathi poems by the author and a dozen of his most preserved sketches and paintings. Some poems are poignant while some are ecstatic. Some are morose while some are sarcastic. All are full of life though – and full of the love of living. The social commentary in the poems is scathing; the ruminations are deep-set; and the four Mandalas in which the book is divided are built onto one another. However this is a book that one can pick up at any page and start reading. Each poem requires multiple readings and each plate of art requires multiple viewings. A book like this rarely comes by.
