Written as a contemporary thriller novel in a simplistic style Samina is an ingeniously plotted and suspenseful whodunnit. Assuming Samina is murdered the novel begins with her father Abdul Rehman searching for his daughter’s killer. Samina who is studying in one of the reputed colleges of South Mumbai had written to her father in Calcutta that should anything happen to her he should hold Irfan Patel a tourist guide responsible for her death. Armed with this letter Abdul Rehman lands up in Mumbai identifies Irfan and accuses him of the murder. Together they land-up at Colaba Police Station.
