Carnatic music was the breath in the house and environment where I was born (Madikeri 1926) Ramayana Maha Bharata Bhagavathadi were published in Kannada as daily recitation texts. Sangeetdirakku Bharat Vachana Harikathapravachana drama performance etc. were the living art forms of that time. Growing up in such an atmosphere my interest in music was nourished by (1944-49). The learned are the mother of sciences astronomy and royal mathematics: the first is Gaganagana the second its Adharashruti and rhythm. First as Lecturer in Mathematics and Astronomy (1947-69) then as Science Editor of Kannada Vishwakosha (1969-86) after retirement as a full-time popular science broadcaster. Immersion in art related activities like listening to music meditation promotion etc. in these situations. Along with this he has a hobby of writing and publishing notes about concerts in Kannada and English languages. Thus my life motto is music literature science and research. My interest in music has given me close contact with many artistes. He has had the privilege of witnessing the growth of young talents and has developed a loving relationship with music institutions. The present work is a compilation of those and some other similar articles. The 30 incidents in the first part of this are also my experiences. Musicologist Rallapallis Ganakale (1952) and Vaggeyakar Vasudevacharyas Na Kanda Artesanuru (1955) had a special impact on me towards the possibility of such a literary genre in Kannada. They are sun it is only money. If they give light to the world this is but a streak of light flickering within me.
