<p>Detective literature in Urdu has been very popular since the beginning. Ibn-e-Safi's novels full of detective stories humour adventure and romance have created a sensation in the Urdu world. If classical literature of Urdu is studied in detail the highlights of detective literature will be visible to us from afar. Elements of espionage are abundantly found in Urdu stories and tales. The seven volumes of Tilism-e-Hoshruba if turned into novels will repeat the early story of detective literature in Urdu. Famous Urdu magazine Shama has started a spy monthly Mujrim based on the main character of Colonel Zahid also gained great popularity among the Urdu fans of entertainment literature. This novel Sard Maut (Cold Death) is based on an exploit of Colonel Zahid.</p><p>/</p><p>اردو میں جاسوسی ادب شروع سے ہی بہت مقبول رہا ہے۔ سراغ رسانی، طنز و مزاح، ایڈونچر اور رومانس سے بھرے ابن صفی کے ناولوں نے تو اردو دنیا میں تہلکہ مچایا ہے۔ اردو کے کلاسیکی ادب کا اگر تفصیلی مطالعہ کیا جائے تو جاسوسی ادب کی جھلکیاں ہمیں دور تک دکھائی دیں گی۔ اردو داستانوں اور قصوں میں جاسوسی کے عناصر بدرجہ اتم پائے جاتے ہیں۔ طلسم ہوشربا کی ساتوں جلدوں کو اگر ناولوں کا روپ دے دیا جائے تو وہ اردو میں جاسوسی ادب کی ابتدائی کہانی دہرائیں گے۔ مشہور رسالہ شمع کے ادارے سے کرنل زاہد کے مرکزی کردار پر مبنی جاسوسی ماہنامہ مجرم نے بھی تفریحی ادب کے اردو داں شائقین کے درمیان خاصی مقبولیت حاصل کی۔ یہ ناول سرد موت کرنل زاہد ہی کے ایک کارنامے پر مبنی ہے۔</p>
