This study aims to present the representations of adolescents and young people at the Meninos do Futuro State School located in the Socio-Educational Center of Cuiabá (Pomeri Complex). The students are under judicial custody and deprived of their liberty. The theoretical assumptions that underpin this research provided critical-discursive tools for the analysis. The theoretical-methodological dialogue between Critical Realism (CR) and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) and the Representation of Social Actors made significant contributions to the realization of this research. This is a qualitative ethnographic study. The results of the analyses clarify through written productions and interviews the relevance of school in each student's life their relationship with teachers through their practices and meaningful learning. School proves to be a place of humanization and emancipation providing conditions for social inclusion.
