This manual highlights the governance of transboundary groundwater resources as a general framework for management and decision-making and includes basic elements of water diplomacy aiming at facilitating the resolution of possible international disputes on shared groundwater resources especially through the article on conflict resolution at the end of this manual. Illustrated by a number of case histories it provides the readers with methods and practical examples of scientific legal and diplomatic instruments in a multidisciplinary approach for managing effectively transboundary groundwater on the one hand and assisting in the negotiations and resolution of conflicts on the other hand.
