Thanks to science and technology human beings have achieved their current levels of quality of life. The effect that science and technology have had and continue to have on improving our living conditions is evident in all areas. As a result we live much better today than we did a hundred years ago. However the importance given to science in the education system is low if measured by the time and resources devoted to it. More effort needs to be made at compulsory education levels. Otherwise the gap between citizens'' knowledge of science and the arts will never be bridged. Therefore together with education information and popularisation are the best recipes for combating anti-science tendencies.
