SCIENTIFIC UTOPIAS IN THE NEW ATLANTIS AND THE TRANSHUMANIST WAGER

This book Scientific Utopias in The New Atlantis and The Transhumanist Wager examines how Francis Bacon's 17th-century work and Zoltan Istvan's 2013 novel depict the ideal society through the lens of scientific and technological advancement. It analyzes the concept of scientific utopia by comparing the core philosophies of both works arguing that Bacon and Istvan shared the hope that science and technology are the ultimate means for humanity to achieve mastery over nature and eventually attain immortality.
