Scrap Takes the Rap

Roquefort Joseph Raccoon froze as the bright light moved past his body. He knew the light would come back and he closed his eyes so they wouldn't reflect back. He felt rather than saw the light move back across his body then move on beyond him into the yard beyond. He stayed stiff and frozen until he heard the steps moving away from him and finally could relax his body. that was a little too close. He would need to be even more careful now than ever. It seemed like the humans had stepped up the night security lately and he didn't know why. Joey as he was called these days made a note to find out what was going on as soon as possible. But for now his dinner awaited and he wanted to get across the street.
