Searching for a Special Place

The little girl in this story wants to find a special place of her very own after she moves to an unfamiliar Midwest farm during the late 1940s. While she is looking circumstances demand that she use her imagination to occupy herself. She also helps her parents and grandparents do the work required before the advent of conveniences such as electrical power. Along with her family she experiences the sadness and joy that are part of farm life.
