<p>From the tranquility of early childhood amid the Alps of northern Italy through the chaos of World War II and the uncertainty of post-war Europe the first seasons of Carla Carli Mazzucato's life were marked by both beauty and personal tragedy. With the death of her father when she was twelve and an adolescence spent with her grandfather away from home she put her dreams aside to help support her family. </p><p><br></p><p>But her restless heart and the hope instilled in her by her father years before reawakened her yearning for something more in her life.</p><p><br></p><p>As a young immigrant to the United States in 1962 she married started a family and began a journey that would see her rise to prominence in the contemporary art world and travel two continents with her work.
