Seasons of Prayer

Over the past decade Ive written pastoral prayers for worship each week. These were written in the heat of the moment so to speak. Usually composed early Sunday morning after the week-long digestion of scripture they are graced with current news and whatever other sources fly by on Facebook television etc. Moreover they are imbued with the weather of the day: rainy snowy hot sunny cloudy days that greet us and build our patience. As I prepared for worship these are the words that came to me the words that seemed appropriate to bless the congregation the words that connected ancient scripture with our modern lives._____
