Apart from being a doctor I had also been a patient. I have had digestive issues for almost 17 years. I suffered from an aphthous ulcer gas acidity gastritis duodenitis duodenal ulcer IBS(irritable bowel syndrome) dysentery (caused by entamoeba histolytic) fatty liver problem piles high cholesterol and high sugar. Well the list is not over yet. I was also afflicted with anaemia polycystic ovaries thyroid issues depression and frustration. You can say that was a helipad to all sorts of negativity.
It began shortly after my father’s passing. However at present I have overcome all those barricades. My father died due to Hepatitis B infection. That was a testing time as I was a close witness to his immense pain. As you are my family I am sharing an experience that will stick with me forever.
That evening ( on 6th May 2006) when my father was about to enter the coma stage. He said that ‘’today I am feeling sleepy through out the day’’. The doctor informed me that liver failure would cause him to lapse into a coma. Then I thought that if I can keep my father awake then he wouldn’t go back to sleep .
To wake him up I kept on calling “Baba”... “Baba”.... without stopping. On the first call he opened his eyes and replied “Umm...” The second time when I called him he only opened his eyes...no reply.
