Eleven-year-old Webster happens upon her mother's secret-that's when she gets to thinking that if Mama of all people has a secret this big other people must have secrets too. She becomes obsessed with snooping around listening in on private conversations gossip and rumors; peeking in windows and pouncing on every opportunity to discover what goes on behind closed doors. Up to now she's lived by three rules: never interfere never judge and never tell secrets. But now that she's seen things no child should ever see and her friend has mysteriously disappeared her resolve is tested. Will she break her vow of secrecy to save her friend?</p>
