Pastor Wilhelm Loehe was arguably the most influencial Lutheran pastor in Germany in the 19th century. He was responsible for starting an international missionary society that positively affected the religous growth of North America South America and Australia. He founded a deaconess society in Neuendettelsau Germany. But above all he was a parish pastor at heart.
